Fraser & Wheeler... Supporting the community

Defibrillators

Dedicated to the local communities within which they live and work they are pleased to be able to provide any support they can for the safety of others living and working within them.

With this in mind, Fraser and Wheeler have already donated two defibrillators in the Dawlish area, one located at the Manor House and the other at the River Exe Café. The third and most recent defibrillator has just been installed outside Age UK Exeter in Cowick Street.

Chris Parkes of Fraser and Wheeler said: “We believe it is an important part of our service that we help find safe and happy homes for our clients, it, therefore, seems a natural extension of our duties to also provide any support we can for the safety of the communities and we are delighted to be able to help do this by providing these three defibrillators for the benefit and peace of mind of the community.”

Martyn Rogers, CEO of Age UK Exeter, said “Local estate agents Fraser & Wheeler have been brilliant in supporting our appeal for a Community Defibrillator in Cowick Street, contributing £1,000 towards the cost. This, plus contributions from St Thomas Emergency Community Group, St Thomas Parish Church, Friends of Age UK Exeter and St Thomas WI, means Cowick Street now has a community resource that will be able to save lives for many years to come”.

Defibrillators are portable electronic devices that provide a shock to patients experiencing cardiac arrest, to re-set their heartbeat. In more rural areas such as the ones we work in, it can be a long journey to hospital, and every second counts. A community defibrillator can mean the difference between life and death. Fraser and Wheeler Estate Agents are committed to providing support to their clients and communities. To find out more about what they do, follow them on Facebook.

Alphington Crick Club Colts

We're also proud sponsers of Alphington Cricket Colts teams for the next two seasons.

Bowhill Primary School Fete

Fraser and Wheeler sponsored the Bowhill Primary School Fete in 2016/17 and 2017/18 which by far their most successful in terms of money raised and people attending.

PTA Member Kelly Voysey said “We are so pleased with the partnership we have created with Fraser & Wheeler. I have been heavily involved with the organisation of the fete but this year was by far the most successful. The team went above and beyond with their involvement, from putting up the boards themselves, to donating more than originally suggested. I cannot recommend Chris and the team highly enough and we will certainly look forward to working together again in the future.”

Shoebox Appeal

The Exeter office is a drop-off point for the fantastic Shoe Box Appeal. We had a record number of boxes dropped into us this year and would like to thank you for all your kind donations. We will also be collecting boxes from November 2019 for this years appeal.

Montgomery School

Fraser and Wheeler Estate Agents are well now for getting involved with their community. Part of this dedication is support for local schools by way of sponsorship and direct involvement with events. They have already established a superb relationship with Bowhill Primary School by sponsoring their summer fair for the past three years which has helped generate funding for the school. Most recently they provided Montgomery Primary School in Exeter with new sports kit. The school’s motto is ‘Taking care of the Future’ and Fraser and Wheeler are helping to ensure this happens.

Chris Parkes of Fraser and Wheeler said: “There is nothing more important to us than our local community – those who live and work around us. We are a part of this community so we want to help ensure it is a thriving one and that pupils in the local schools can look forward positively, whatever the route they choose through life. We are dedicated to supporting and sponsoring those who are making our area ever brighter, especially our local schools – after all those students are the future. We are very proud to be associated with Montgomery School in this way, and are looking forward to seeing the students dashing about in their future sporting pursuits!”

A spokesperson from Montgomery School said: “We are extremely grateful to Fraser and Wheeler’s Exeter branch for donating the money which meant we could buy a brand new sports kit.
This kit will enable pupils to feel a sense of pride when representing Montgomery in a range of sporting events for years to come.
It is great to get the support from the local Fraser and Wheeler team, especially considering the financial challenges to education budgets, and we are very impressed with their continued efforts to support organisations in the local community.”
Supporting local schools is just one of many community endeavors Fraser and Wheeler have been involved in. To keep up to date with their news, take a look at their website and follow them on Facebook.

Trick or Treat Event

We had a brilliant turn out at our ‘Trick or Treat’ event for Halloween when we opened the office for the evening and invited local youngsters to come in for some treats and to show off their costumes. Those who came along made a fantastic effort and looked very scary! In addition to opening the office, we ran a drawing competition asking children to draw a haunted house and it was no mean feat to choose the winner but eventually we agreed on Toby, age 9. He received a £10 voucher for his detailed and seriously spooky haunted house picture! As we had so many amazing drawings we decided to also issue a 2nd and 3rd place to Ava, age 8 and Teddy, age 5 who both received some sweet treats.
