A vacant unit in the heart of St Thomas, Exeter will be occupied once more by the end of January.

Previously the location of Britannia Building Society, 35 Cowick Street will be home to Fraser and Wheeler Estate Agents - as St Thomas continues to fill its empty shop spaces.

In recent months empty units in St Thomas precinct occupied previously by Blockbuster Video and a discount store have been taken on by Domino's Pizza and a Greggs bakery.

Another empty unit recently become a charity shop. However the battle to fill St Thomas isn't over yet. Fast food takeaway KFC has left its unit on Cowick Street following the grand opening of a nearby Alphington Road KFC last month.

Fraser and Wheeler, soon to be at the junction between Cowick Street, Cecil Road and Buller Road, began operating independently in Dawlish five years ago.

Owners Ian Fraser, Ben Fraser and Dawn Wheeler had 75 years of service in the industry between them when they set up their Queen Street branch.
Five jobs will be created when they open next month and the office is to be managed by Chris Parkes, an experienced Estate Agent who has worked for many years in the city, including time running another estate agent in Cowick Street.
Chris Parkes said: "I am very excited to be working back in St.Thomas again! I really enjoyed working in the area previously and met lots of lovely people, many of which I have stayed in regular contact with.
"I am extremely passionate about delivering a professional service for our clients at what can be an extremely stressful time and am looking forward to helping many more people in the future "
The business aims to support the local community in a similar way to their operation in Dawlish.
A significant donation was made to the rail flood relief victims last year and, more recently, a commitment was made to purchase a second defibrillator for Dawlish hospital.
Fraser and Wheeler are already taking instructions to sell property in the St Thomas area, with Chris Parkes requesting clients call him on 01626 862379.
